If you're planning to have your baby in hospital, it might make you feel more comfortable and secure if you have some things with you in the room that will make it feel like your space.
These could be:
• some music (and something to play it on, unless your hospital provides something)
• a pillow or cushion that smells of home
• a photograph
• a favourite object (such as an ornament, or a soft toy)
• your usual perfume
• essential oils
• your own clothes (such as a large baggy T-shirt or an old shirt of your partner's, and some loose trousers - ideally with an elasticated waist, if you'd like to have your lower half covered).
Try to dim the lighting, if you can, to make the delivery room more quiet and calm.
